From cloud automation to mission AI
- 2019
Founded to remove DevOps from the path
Ulap began with click button wizards that deploy and operate secure cloud native environments and applications, so teams could build without writing infrastructure code. That year Ulap also delivered its first Air Force work, doing the technical work as subcontractor on an Air Force SBIR open call for dual purpose technologies.
- 2020
Finding More Threats, Faster
Ulap did the technical work, as subcontractor, on an Air Force effort to find more threats, faster: the start of its work in AI for cyber.
- 2023
First SBIR awards as prime
Phase I awards from the Air Force and Army for automated cyber data processing, model operations, and detection.
- 2023
Built with U.S. Army Cyber
Ulap fielded secure applications for defensive cyber and information advantage missions, with investment from U.S. Cyber Command and AFWERX.
- 2024
Air Force Phase II for CYBO
A Phase II award to build CYBO for automated network monitoring and alerting, in support of U.S. Cyber Command, U.S. Army Cyber, and the Cyber Protection Brigade, and the basis for sole source Phase III eligibility.
- 2024
From CloudSense to the Machine Learning Workspace
The AI and machine learning experience in CloudSense, Ulap's cloud platform, grew into the Machine Learning Workspace: secure notebooks, analytics, and click button model deployment for teams in regulated environments.
- 2025
Office of the Secretary of War Phase I for CYBO
An SBIR award to advance Explainable and Trustworthy AI in CYBO, so mission teams get answers they can trace and verify.

Sovereign AI Foundation Models
The CYBO model family: a documented supply chain, training data of known provenance, testing against ground truth, and a license the vendor cannot revoke. The Department owns the weights and sets the terms of use, fielded through CERA alongside seven applications in one workspace.
